Edinburgh Yarn Retreat
Join us for 5 days and 4 nights at the 4 star Malmaison boutique hotel in Leith, Edinburgh, UK.
Enjoy the Christmas market, join knitting and crochet classes and spend working on your own projects.
Plus, you'll get time to explore the historic capital city and Christmassy atmosphere.
The hotel is approx 10 min taxi ride from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station, (with direct links to London).
It's located approx 30 mins car or taxi ride from Edinburgh airport.
There are regular bus and tram services nearby.
There is complimentary onsite parking, on a first come, first served basis.

Monday 23rd November

Arrive at the venue and we'll be there to meet you. Grab your goody bag and get settled.
Welcome talk. We'll give a brief welcome talk followed by afternoon tea and a chance to get to know each other.
Notions Speed Dating. This is your chance to try different types of knitting needles and/or crochet hooks. You'll have 10 minutes with each set before moving on to another. Find out which you like, which you don't and try sets of all price ranges that you may not have come across before.
Free time. You'll get check in and you can spend the time however you'd like.
3 Course Dinner. Join us for a lovely dinner in the hotel for another chance to get to know each other.
Tuesday 24th November

Breakfast. Enjoy breakfast in the hotel to fill you up for the day and get you ready to craft.
2 Colour Brioche Knitting Class. This content is currently top secret! This afternoon, you'll be the first to learn and make a brand new Cleevely knits pattern. For now, Adam will lead you through the techniques and stitches you'll need to complete the project. All will become clear when you attend.

Crochet and Social Craft Time. If you aren't a knitter or want to work on your own projects, Louise will be on hand to help with crochet and have a good old chat.
Lunch. Time for a break and enjoy some yummy lunch. You'll also have free time to spend how you'd like. Go back to your room, head to the bar or carry on crafting.
Cleevely Knits Brioche Scarf Pattern Class. It's time to cast on the new pattern. This will be exclusive to the retreat and released 10 days later. Plus, you get to learn it from the man himself. Adam will lead the class and talk you through everything you need to know.

Crochet and Social Craft Time. Spend this time how you'd like. Carry on with a class make or work on your own projects. It's up to you. It's a chance to have a chat, ask questions and giggle along the way.
Free time. Head back to your room, have a nap, head to the bar or keep crafting. This is your recharge time to spend however you'd like.
Evening Adventure. We'll be heading out of the hotel for dinner and to experience part of the city.
Wednesday 25th November

Techniques Masterclass. Over the first 2 days, we'll be asking you for suggestions of knitting and crochet techniques that you would like to learn. In this session, we'll do short tutorials of some or all of these techniques (time permitting).

Social Craft Time. If you would rather work on something else, absolutely feel free! This is your time to relax and create so we want you to work on whatever makes your heart happy.
Time to explore. The rest of the afternoon and evening is yours to experience the city. With the Christmas market, historic castle and lots of bars and restaurants, Edinburgh is well-worth exploring.
If you don't fancy it, feel free to spend your time in the hotel and local area.

Cleevely Knits Snowflake Hat Class. Cast on this popular Cleevely Knits colourwork pattern. Adam will support you through the pattern and give you lots of tips and tricks along the way.

Crochet Class. Whether you're new to crochet or more advanced, this class will guide you through learning beginners techniques, following a pattern or support for your project.

Friday 27th November

Breakfast. Enjoy breakfast in the hotel to fill you up for the day and get you ready to craft. Also, don't forget to check out of your room.
Social Craft Time. This is our last session together. We'll continue creating and enjoy showing each other our makes. Adam and Louise be there for any help you'd like.
If you'd like to head off earlier in the morning then head to the craft space and we'll say our goodbyes.
Departures. Time to say our goodbyes. This is always the worse bit. We'll wish you safe travels and hopefully it'll be a "see you soon" rather than a goodbye".

This option allows you to bring someone with you who will stay at the hotel but will not join in on the retreat. The second person has breakfast included.

Payments can be made in full at point of booking or 50% non-refundable deposit paid at booking and the remaining paid a minimum of 28 days before the first day of the event.
